Optional meal-timing support

Intermittent fasting support, tailored to you

At Weight2Lose, meal timing and intermittent fasting may be part of a personalized nutrition and metabolic-health plan when medically appropriate. Your health history, medications, preferences and routine guide the discussion.

Start with the whole plan

Meal timing is one part of nutrition care

Intermittent fasting describes patterns that alternate eating with periods of not eating. It is not a single plan that suits everyone. At Weight2Lose, the broader nutrition program also addresses food choices, meal structure and practical habits.

You can discuss fasting without committing to it. Your preferences and clinical circumstances matter, and other nutrition approaches may be used. The aim of the initial conversation is to understand the support available before you decide to join.

From questions to an agreed plan

How support is arranged

  1. Discuss the support you want

A free 30-minute phone conversation with a human Program Director explains the program, available practitioners, visit options and costs. It is not a medical assessment or a decision that fasting is suitable for you.

  2. Review your proposed care

Before enrollment, your personalized proposal identifies practitioners, appointment frequency, program duration, total cost and payment schedule. Medical or other professional consultations are separately arranged and priced unless expressly included.

  3. Build an individual nutrition plan

The nutritionist intake considers your health history, medications, available bloodwork, preferences and daily routine. Meal timing may be discussed alongside food choices and lifestyle habits, with appropriate clinical input when needed.

  4. Adjust the plan with follow-up

Private follow-ups address practical questions, appetite, meal choices and barriers in everyday life. Your practitioner reviews your experience and refines the plan. Fasting remains optional; the program is not a requirement to follow one fixed schedule.

Ask about the practitioners, visits and full financial commitment in your proposal. Read the program pricing information or use our questions for comparing programs.

Individual clinical decisions

Clinical support and medication questions

For patients with chronic conditions, appropriate clinical oversight may be needed for laboratory review, monitoring and coordination with the prescribing physician. Nutrition support does not replace that assessment.

Do not begin fasting or change medication based on this website. Discuss suitability with an appropriate health professional, particularly if you take medication or have a medical condition.

The US National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases explains that people with type 2 diabetes considering intermittent fasting need close medical involvement in medication management. Its discussion of intermittent fasting and type 2 diabetes provides further background. This independent source does not endorse Weight2Lose.

For patients looking for Toronto Metabolic Clinic

Care through the current Weight2Lose program

Dr. Jason Fung was the co-founder of Toronto Metabolic Clinic. In 2024, patient care from Toronto Metabolic Clinic transitioned to Weight2Lose Medical Clinics.

Dr. Jason Fung is not currently seeing or counselling patients in the Weight2Lose program, a multi-disciplinary team counsels patients. The current program continues many of the same metabolic-health and fasting principles, and several Toronto Metabolic Clinic clinicians remain involved in patient care. The program manager can provide more information about the transition and continuity, and the full transition notice is also available at torontometabolicclinic.com.

Former Toronto Metabolic Clinic patients, referring clinics, and new patients seeking intermittent fasting or broader metabolic health support can access care through the current Weight2Lose program.

Weight2Lose currently provides fully virtual care by secure video or phone. Available services depend on your location and practitioner availability.

Understand your options before deciding

Ask who would lead your care, how clinical questions are handled, which visits are included and how appointments could fit your routine. You do not need to choose a fasting schedule before the call.
